NOTORIOUS DRUG PUSHER NABBED IN TAGUIG
Mar 23, 2010
Intelligence operatives of the Taguig City Police arrested the other day a notorious drug pusher who has been the subject of complaints by concerned residents in Brgy. Upper Bicutan, as part of the city’s sustained anti-drug campaign.
Chief Inspector Tito M. Oraya, head of the Intelligence Section of the Taguig Police identified the suspect as Crisanto C. Canaria, alias Totoy, 34, a resident of Block 58, Lot 4, Sunalan St., Purok 2, Brgy. Upper Bicutan, Taguig.
Based on the report filed by P02 Vergelio P. Del Rosario, Jr., Canaria was nabbed by SPO1 Ferdinand L. Morillo and PO3 Baltazar D. Francisco Sunday afternoon in front of a store along Poolan St., Purok 2 in Brgy. Upper Bicutan. Police recovered two heat-sealed sachets of shabu from Canaria.
PO3 Francisco told investigators that they were on a surveillance mission along Poolan St. when he saw Canaria acting suspiciously in the area. When SPO1 Morillo arrived on board a motorcycle, Canaria, sensing the policeman, took the shabu out of his pocket and tried to hide it beneath a rock.
He was caught in the act of trying to dispose of the said drugs and upon questioning allegedly admitted his illegal activities.
Investigators said Canaria has been the subject of complaints of residents, his name gaining notoriety for allegedly peddling drugs even to minors. Taguig Mayor Freddie R. Tinga lauded the arrest and called on his constituents to provide pertinent information to authorities at the city’s hotline 1623 for the arrest of more pushers as the city continues to wage an all-out war against illegal drugs.
