MAYOR TIÑGA LAUDS BIGGEST DRUG RING BUST Two notorious pushers nabbed; hi-tech, newly-operated drug lab raided

Taguig Mayor Freddie R. Tiñga yesterday lauded the arrest of two notorious pushers and the raid of a warehouse, recently rented and used as a drug lab in Brgy. Bagumbayan, which yielded billions of pesos worth of shabu and hi-tech paraphernalias used in the manufacture of this illegal drug.
Elements of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Police Intelligence Operation Unit (RPIOU) led by Supt. Leo M. Francisco nabbed the suspects identified as William Altejeros, alias Charlie Sy Lim, 40, and Guofu Fu, 30, both Chinese nationals in a buy-bust operation infront of Mini-Stop convenience store in Brgy. Bagong Tanyag, Taguig Thursday morning.
Police recovered about P2-M worth of shabu from the suspects. Upon interrogation, investigators were able to pinpoint the drug lab which was established by the suspects late February in a warehouse located at No. 5 Carlo Drive, Mañalac Subdivision, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Taguig.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Pateros Executive Judge Isagani Geronimo, RPIOU, AIDB and SWAT operatives raided the warehouse Friday afternoon in the presence of NCRPO chief, Director Roberto L. Rosales; PNP AIDSOTF commander, Deputy Director General Edgardo E. Acuña; Mayor Tiñga; Brgy. Bagumbayan chairman Delio Santos and representatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Rosales said several hi-tech shabu manufacturing machines, at least 14 drums of red phosphorous hydrochloric acid, acetone, iodine and soda were found at the scene.
The suspects shielded their operations from detection by using sophisticated machines where fumes of chemicals after passing through a freezer are solidified, thereby eliminating any bad stench. Aircon openings on the wall were even cemented to seal the windowless rooms.
“This operation is really big and we are thankful that Mayor Tiñga is here. We know that he is doing his best to curb the drug menace and that the city government with the police are actively implementing a sustained drive against illegal drugs in Taguig,” Rosales said.
For his part, the mayor commended Rosales and his men for a job well done. “We thank the NCRPO for being a reliable partner in our fight against crime, particularly the illegal drugs trade. This is a serious blow to big time drug traders in our country. We call on the public to help us in the war against drugs,” Tinga said.
Police said the suspects have been the subject of a surveillance operation for two months. The suspects were said to be staying in a hotel in Ermita, Manila and started renting the warehouse last February 15 upon the guise of putting up a spare parts business under the name of Henry Ang.
Brgy. Chairman Santos said no business permits were secured by the suspects from the barangay or even the Business Permits and Licenses Office of the city government.
Meanwhile, Mayor Tiñga directed Santos to intensify the inspection of the more than 100 warehouses and other establishments within the Mañalac industrial zone to avoid similar incidents.
“If they (establishment owners) refuse to open their doors for inspection, we will bring the police in to make sure that their premises and operations are fully inspected,” Mayor Tinga stressed.
