Mar 30, 2010
The Taguig city government honored the 24 operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) who were behind the arrest of two notorious pushers, the successful raid of a drug laboratory in Brgy. Bagumbayan and the seizure of billions of pesos worth of shabu chemicals and sophisticated equipment in the manufacture of this illegal drug.
In simple ceremonies at the Taguig City Hall quadrangle, Kaye Tinga, who come in behalf of her husband Taguig City Mayor Freddie Tiñga, and City Administrator Wilfredo C. Villar awarded certificates of commendation to members of the NCRPO Regional Police Intelligence Operation Unit (RPIOU) led by Supt. Leo M. Francisco.
Francisco and his men were also given cash incentives by the mayor for their support in the city’s unrelenting drive against illegal drugs.
“We thank the NCRPO and all other agencies who work hand-in-hand with the city government in the war against illegal drugs. Let this be a warning to drug traders that we are serious in this crusade. We call on the public to help us arrest more pushers by relaying information to the city hotline-1623,” Mayor Tiñga said.
Francisco’s team nabbed suspects William Altejeros, alias Charlie Sy Lim, and Guofu Fu in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Bagong Tanyag, Taguig last week. Two million pesos worth of shabu were recovered from them. The operation led to the discovery and raid of a high-tech drug lab in a warehouse, rented by the suspects only last February 15, at No. 5 Carlo Drive, Mañalac Subdivision, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Taguig.
“This is one of the biggest drug operations we have made, and we are thankful for the support that Mayor Tiñga and the city government continue to give the police. We know that they are actively implementing a sustained drive to curb the drug menace in Taguig,” NCRPO Chief, Director Roberto Rosales said.
