TAGUIG POLICE NETS TWO NOTORIOUS PUSHERS
Apr 12, 2010
Taguig Mayor Freddie R. Tinga yesterday lauded the arrest of two notorious drug pushers by the Taguig Police in separate buy bust operations last Friday in Taguig, as part of the city’s sustained campaign against illegal drugs.
Taguig Police chief, Sr. Supt. Camilo Pancratius Cascolan identified the arrested drug pushers as Maomar C. Cayagcag, alias Maui, 28, resident of No. 3 Ruby St., Purok 3, Lower Bicutan; and Ma. Elizabeth L. Tablang, alias Beth, 45, resident of No. 7-A Gen. Espino St., Zone 6, Bgy. Signal Village.
Both Cayagcag and Tablang have been the subject of surveillance by the Taguig Station Anti-Illegal Drugs – Special Operations Task Group (SAID-SOTG), based on reports by police assets. Upon confirming the suspects’ illegal activities, the SAID-SOTG immediately worked for the arrest of the suspects.
At about 10:45pm on Friday, in a buy bust operation on M. L. Quezon St., Purok 6, Brgy. Lower Bicutan, police pounced on Cayagcag, upon receiving the P500 marked money from a poseur buyer.
Tablang, on the other hand, was arrested at about 11:30pm on the same night on Ballecer Ext., Zone 5, Bgy. Signal Village also in a buy bust operation.
The police recovered an undetermined amount of shabu and drug paraphernalias from the suspects.
Meanwhile, Mayor Tiñga warned that the city government and the police will spare no one in their no-letup drive against illegal drugs. He called on the public to remain vigilant and to help in the sustained fight against illegal drugs by relaying vital information to the Taguig Hotline 1623.
Appropriate charges have been filed against the suspects. |
