TAGUIG CITY RECOGNIZED FOR HAVING ONE OF THE HIGHEST ACCOMPLISHMENT RATES ON NATIONAL VACCINATION DAYS
City thanks healthcare workers for hard work in vaccination efforts
The City Government of Taguig was recognized for having one of the highest accomplishment rates among local government units during the Bayanihan Bakunahan IV: National Vaccination Days held last March 10-18, 2022.
The award, given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) together with other national government agencies in the National Task Force COVID-19, was formally received by Taguig City Health Office head Dra. Norena Osano, in SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City on Tuesday, March 22.
In his recent speech, Mayor Lino Cayetano attributed this feat to the city’s hardworking healthcare workers.
“It has always been our health workers who put their health at risk and try their very best to save lives. We thank them for their hard work and sacrifices,” he said.
As of March 21, a total of 832,839 individuals have already been fully vaccinated in the City of Taguig, translating to 94% of the DOH’s projected population of the City for 2022.
Taguig vows to remain aggressive in its disease surveillance and vaccination efforts despite the downward trend in cases of COVID-19 in the City.
