Taguig re-routing for Undas 2014

Provides 24-hr security, medical, traffic assistance

In line with the nation’s observance of All Saints’ day and All Souls’ day, the city government of Taguig will implement a traffic re-routing, round-the-clock security, medical services and traffic assistance to ensure that no untoward incident occurs come Undas.

With thousands of people expected to flock cemeteries to visit their departed ones, motorists are advised to take alternate routes at Ususan, General Luna Street going to Sta. Ana and Manuel L. Quezon Street to Bagumbayan from 6 A.M of November 1 until 5 PM of the following day, November 2.

The stretch of Bagong Calzada-Tuktukan road will be closed to traffic to lessen the congestion of vehicles.

This is in addition to the round -the-clock security, medical services and traffic assistance in all of the cemeteries on November 1.

Mayor Lani Cayetano earlier announced that several offices within the local government and the Taguig Police had collaborated to secure and provide the necessary assistance to nine cemeteries within the city.

Taguig’s head for Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) Evelyn Arago said  helpdesks and first-aid tents will also be strategically placed in all of the cemeteries in order to address any concern or respond to any medical emergencies.

The local government also has ensured that all areas in all of the cemeteries and all streets leading to them are well-lit.

Personnel from the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) and the Taguig-PNP are deployed to the cemeteries starting today to secure the areas.

There will also be Motorists Assistance Centers along C-5 road manned by members of the Traffic Management Office (TMO), Taguig Rescue, POSO and Taguig-PNP.

The TMO will also be present to manage the traffic of vehicles expected to congest the roads near cemeteries.

Liquor, deadly weapons not allowed

Meanwhile, Mayor Lani warned citizens that liquor and deadly weapons are strictly prohibited in cemeteries on November 1. ###
